Cross Frame arrangement

SettingDescription
Span Span Selection can be used to select one of the available spans for cross frame arrangement
Same as span selection Copy the cross frame arrangement from another span to current one. There are 3 different ways to achieve the copying: Plain, Mirrored, Doubly mirrored.
SettingDescription
Plain Allows copying cross frame arrangement from source span into destination exactly the way it was defined in source span.
Mirrored Allows copying the cross frame arrangement from source to destination span, by mirroring its values first.
Doubly mirrored Allows copying the cross frame arrangement from source to destination span, by mirroring its values first and then applying to destination girder in reverse order.
Transverse alignment Selecting one of the cross frame arrangement types will result in an automatic generation of different usual situations. With switching to the arbitrary type you can use regular types as template and make individual adaptations.

We have following arrangement types:

  • Regular
    • Same cross-frame ID’s in every bay.
    • Same x/l in every point in lateral direction (i.e., if we have skew girder or pier arrangement, the cross-frames will also be skew).
  • Continuous/Normal 1
    • Same cross-frame ID’s in every bay.
    • x/l measured along bridge axis.
    • Cross frames arranged normal to bridge axis, except at the span ends.
    • Cross frames at span ends arranged in pier direction.
  • Continuous/Normal 2
    • Same cross-frame ID’S in every bay.
    • x/l measured along bridge axis.
    • All cross frames arranged normal to bridge axis.
  • Staggered/Normal 1
    • Same cross-frame ID’s in every bay.
    • x/l measured along every bay axis (same values in every bay).
    • Cross frames arranged normal to bay axes, except at the span ends.
    • Cross frames at span ends arranged in pier direction.
  • Staggered/Normal 2
    • Same cross-frame ID’s in every bay.
    • x/l measured along bridge axis.
    • All cross frames arranged normal to bay axes.
  • Bay by bay/Normal N1
    • Cross-frame ID’s individually defined for each bay.
    • x/l definition along bay axes.
    • Cross frames arranged normal to bay axes, except at the span ends.
    • Cross-frames at span ends in pier direction.
  • Bay by bay/Normal N2
    • Cross-frame ID’s individually defined for each bay.
    • x/l definition along bay axes.
    • All cross frames arranged normal to bay axes.
  • Bay by bay/Arbitrary
    • Cross-frame ID individually defined for each bay.
    • x/l definition defined individually along left and right girder of selected bay .
Bay tabs Displays all cross frame parameters on the individual bays of the current span.
Same as Bay selection Copy the cross frame arrangement from another bay to the current one, within current span only.
Center/Left and right options If Center options is selected and depending on the chosen Transverse alignment type, you will define the cross frame position relative to either the Center Axis (which is the bridge axis) or the Bay axis.

Left and right is available only for the last type: Bay by bay/Arbitrary, where x/l definition is made along left and right girder of selected bay.

Divide span by Divides the span in equal parts where you can place a Cross frame or Stiffener on a certain position along Bay axis.
